What Are the Seven Deserts?

The Seven Deserts is a fictitious Arabic region in which most "Aladdin" movies and TV episodes take place in. Agrabah, the main city in which Aladdin is said to reside, is located in the Seven Deserts. This region is also commonly referred to as the Seven Kingdoms. There are only six known places in the region.
  1. Agrabah

    • This is the main city in which Aladdin is said to reside, which is in the region ruled by the sultan. This is also where the palace is located there as well as the marketplace. Agrabah is said to be based on the real-life city of Baghdad, which Disney had originally planned to set their "Aladdin" movie in.

    Quarkistan

    • This region of the Seven Deserts is ruled by King Mamoud. Aladdin visits this region with his friends in the "Bad Mood Rising" TV episode. The weather in Quarkistan is affected directly by the mood of its king.

    Al-Muddi

The Land of the Black Sand

    • This is a region of the Seven Deserts where all the sand is black. This is also where the citadel is located, home of the evil Mozenrath. There is a green haze around the citadel that blocks out the sun all day. The Dead City is also located in this region.

    Ganastan

    • Ruled by Ambassador Akim, this region is said to be based on ancient African tribes. Although not much is known about Ganastan, the sultan of Agrabah had his eyes set on conquering the region.

    Upanistan

    • The most mysterious region of the Seven Deserts, not much is known about Upanistan. According to the "Heads, You Lose" episode, it is ruled by Caliph Kapok, a good and kind ruler.
