Do movies go in quotation marks?

Whether or not to put movie titles in quotation marks depends on the style guide you're following.

Here are some common guidelines:

* MLA (Modern Language Association): Use *italics* for movie titles.

* APA (American Psychological Association): Use *italics* for movie titles.

* Chicago Manual of Style: Use *italics* for movie titles.

* AP (Associated Press): Use quotation marks for movie titles.

Example:

* MLA/APA/Chicago: *The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring*

* AP: "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring"

General Rule of Thumb:

If you're not sure which style guide to follow, it's usually safe to err on the side of using *italics*.

Exceptions:

* Sometimes movie titles are in all caps, especially in informal writing or advertising.

* If you're referring to a specific episode of a TV show, use quotation marks for the episode title.
