What is plot of the film Freaks?

The film "Freaks" is a 1932 American pre-Code horror film directed by Tod Browning and starring Wallace Ford, Leila Hyams, Olga Baclanova, and Roscoe Ates. The film tells the story of a traveling circus consisting of sideshow performers, or "freaks," and their interactions with two outsiders: Cleopatra, a beautiful trapeze artist, and her lover Hercules, a strongman.

The film begins with Cleopatra and Hercules joining the circus, where they quickly become close to the performers. However, Cleopatra is soon targeted by Hans, a dwarf who is in love with her. Hans schemes to have Hercules killed so that he can have Cleopatra for himself.

Cleopatra and Hercules eventually learn of Hans's plan and confront him. A fight ensues, and Hans is killed. The film ends with Cleopatra and Hercules leaving the circus together.

"Freaks" is a controversial film that has been praised for its groundbreaking depiction of people with disabilities and its critique of societal norms, but also criticized for its portrayal of these individuals as grotesque and inhuman.
