Was the cinema invented in Victorian time?

The cinema, or movie theater, was not invented during Victorian times. Victorian era generally refers to the period of Queen Victoria's reign in the United Kingdom, which lasted from 1837 to 1901. The first public screening of motion pictures is widely attributed to the Lumiere brothers in Paris, France, in December 1895, which falls outside the Victorian period.
