Locate a block of wood 1 inch thick, 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. This will be the base of the mount. Sand out the bottom using sandpaper, so it fits snugly on top of the helmet's contours. This may take some time, but ensuring a well-fitting groove is essential. Paint the wood to match the color of the helmet.
Coat the bottom of the wood block in a powerful glue. Carefully place the wood block on top of the center of the helmet to fit with the groove dug out in step one. Hold the block of wood against the helmet until it is dry. Drying times vary by brand, and they should be listed on the glue package.
Locate a camera mounting bracket from a tripod. This is the piece that screws into the camera and then attaches to a tripod. A bracket can be purchased from any camera shop. Place the bracket on top of the camera mount wood block.
Purchase high quality rubber straps that fit over the bracket locking it in place. These straps can be purchased from fastener stores. Arrange the straps and fasteners in a way that covers the bracket, locking it in place. Screw the fasteners into the wood, using screws. This most effective way is to screw the fasteners in a square pattern that extends over the four corners of the bracket locking the bracket securely against the wood.
Screw the camera on to the mounting bracket. Ensure it is securely fastened and enjoy.
