How did they film death in Casino Royale?

In Casino Royale, the scene where James Bond is shot in the arm was filmed using a practical effect. A small, explosive charge was placed in Daniel Craig's arm, and when it was detonated, it created the illusion of a bullet wound. The charge was carefully controlled so that it would not cause any harm to the actor.

For the scene where Bond is poisoned, the filmmakers used a combination of practical effects and CGI. A real syringe was used to inject Craig with a liquid that simulated poison, and then CGI was used to create the visual effect of the poison spreading through his body.

The scene where Bond is tortured was also filmed using a combination of practical effects and CGI. Craig was actually submerged in water for the scene, and the CGI was used to create the illusion that he was being held under by ropes.
