What year did Sherry come out?

The term "sherry" is derived from the Spanish word "jerez", which is the name of a city in southern Spain where sherry wine is produced. The history of sherry production in Jerez dates back to the 12th century when the Moors introduced the cultivation of grapes and winemaking techniques to the region. However, the commercialization of sherry wine on a large scale began in the 18th century when British traders started exporting sherry to England and other parts of Europe. Therefore, it is not accurate to specify a particular year when "sherry" came out, as it refers to a type of wine produced and traded over several centuries in the Jerez region of Spain.
