Who invented the laser mouse?
The invention of the laser mouse is credited to
Robert S. Sutor, while working at
Microsoft. He filed a patent for it in
1999 and the technology was first commercially used in the
Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer released in
2004.
However, it's important to note that while Sutor is credited with the invention, the technology builds upon previous work in laser imaging and optical tracking, which were already in use in other fields.
