How did the flower get its magic power in a mid summer nights dream?

The flower that Lysander gave to Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream did not have any magical powers. Instead, the play portrays the magical effects to have come from the love juice that had been placed on the flower by the mischievous sprite Puck.
