2. Remove the serpentine belt using the ½” breaker bar and 10” extension.
3. Slide the belt off of the alternator pulley and out of the way.
4. Remove the wires leading from the back of the alternator. Using the 10mm socket, loosen the bracket nuts and bolts holding the wires to the alternator. Set the bracket aside out of the way.
5. Disconnect the positive wire that leads to the alternator using a 10mm socket. Set the nut and washer aside.
6. Remove the belt tensioner pivot bolt with a 13mm socket. Set the nut and bolt aside.
7. Remove the alternator pulley using a screwdriver and pliers. Use the screwdriver to pry up on the pulley while gripping it with the pliers to pull it directly toward yourself
8. Remove the alternator upper mount bolt and bracket using a 13mm socket. Set these aside.
9. Remove the rear and upper alternator mounting bolts using the 10mm socket. There will be one upper mounting bolt and one rear mounting bolt near the top of the alternator.
10. Remove the alternator. Once you have removed the tensioner, upper mount, rear, and upper mounting bolts, the alternator will come free of the engine. Carefully lift it straight off of the engine.
