How can one extend power chords?

There are three primary ways to extend power chords:

1. Extended with the 6th, 7th, 9th, or 13th: Extending power chords with these notes adds more harmonic depth and colour. For instance, you can play a power chord (root + 5th) and add the 6th above the root to create a fuller sound.

2. Add Suspensions: Suspensions are dissonant intervals that create a sense of tension and release. For instance, you can play a power chord and add the 4th instead of the 3rd to create a suspension that resolves to the 3rd.

3. Add Augmented or Diminished Intervals: Augmented and diminished intervals can add a unique flavour to power chords. For instance, you can play a power chord and add the augmented 5th instead of the regular 5th to create a more dissonant sound. Alternatively, you can play a diminished 5th to add a darker, more mysterious sound.
