Do you have to give up save yourself in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon?

Yes. In the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, if your Pokemon faints, you lose the game and have to start over from the beginning. The only way to save yourself is to use an Escape Orb or warp back to town before your Pokemon faints.
