Does Harry Potter save Cedric Diggory in the maze book?

Harry Potter does not save Cedric Diggory in the maze in the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In the novel, Cedric is murdered by Peter Pettigrew on Lord Voldemort's orders after he and Harry touch the Triwizard Cup, which transports them to a graveyard.
