Prom Makeup Ideas for Hazel Eyes

Your prom is a memorable and formal affair that calls for glamorous clothing, accessories and makeup. When you do your own makeup for the prom, you're able to go over-the-top with glitz and glam unlike any other occasion. Girls with hazel eyes take advantage of makeup tones that are both suited for brown and green eyes thanks to the neutrality of their eye hue.
  1. Eyeliner

    • Dramatic lines as opposed to the casual eye outline draw attention to your peepers. Create a dramatic focal line on your top lid just at your lash line. Make the line approximately 1/16 of an inch thick. You can choose not to line your lower lid, or line it with a pencil thin outline.

Select eyeliner colors that not only accentuate your hazel-colored eyes, but add to the look of the event you're attending. For instance, an eyeliner stick of royal purple with glittery flecks adds the depth to your eyes that dark-colored liner provides. It also gives a pop with color and shimmer. Purple looks amazing with hazel eyes, and it really brings the green hue out in them. Select a teal color which also emphasizes the color of hazel.

    Eye Shadow

    • Eye shadow comes in a seemingly endless array of textures and colors such as cream-based, powder and stick shadows. These colorful pigments draw attention to your eyes when swept along your upper lids. However, a prom calls for some more drastic applications.

Use a cotton swab dipped in a bold tone of brown, green, purple or another shade that best suits your hazel eyes. Use this cotton swab to sweep along your lower eyelid just beneath your lash line. This creates a sultry and smokey accent of color that frames your eyes with the color applied to your upper lid.

    Lashes

    • Bold, flamboyant eyelashes frame your eyes and help them stand out along with the eyeliner and shadow you choose. You can either select your choice of mascara formulas to create an eye-catching effect with your eyes, or you can opt for false eyelashes. False eyelashes come in a wide variety of shapes, textures and colors giving you the opportunity to bypass using messy mascara.

Use a pair of tweezers to apply the lashes just above your natural lashes to overlap them. Do this after using the necessary mascara adhesive. Apply a single coat of clear colored mascara to further seal the falsies to your natural eyelashes so they blend in. You can opt for using glittered mascara or a boldly colored formula to add color accent to your fake, bold lashes for prom.

    Accents for Hazel Eyes

    • Accentuate your hazel eyes with various accents added to your prom makeup routine. Adhesive gems in flattering shades of amber and green draw attention to your greenish-brown eyes. Glitter gel swept along your temples also gives your eyes a bit of a pop of glamour.
