What year did Fairy Tail anime come out?

The Fairy Tail anime first aired on October 12, 2009, and continued until March 26, 2013, spanning a total of 175 episodes. The anime was adapted from the manga series of the same name written by Hiro Mashima. The series was produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Shinji Ishihira. It was broadcasted on TV Tokyo in Japan and later licensed by Funimation for North America.
