How do you get the friend area in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon red?

There is no "friend area" in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. This game does not feature a specific area where you can interact with your partner Pokémon and build a relationship with them in the same way that later games in the series do.
