Where is the Girl With Dragon Tattoo series set?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, authored by Stieg Larsson, takes place predominantly in Sweden, particularly in Stockholm and Hedestad (a fictional town that draws inspiration from several smaller towns in northern Sweden).
