Gallagher was born in Burnage, Manchester, England, and began playing guitar at the age of 13. He formed Oasis in 1991 with his younger brother Liam, and the band quickly rose to fame in the UK with their debut album, Definitely Maybe (1994). The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Oasis as one of the most popular bands in the world.
Oasis released a total of seven studio albums, with Gallagher writing or co-writing most of the songs. The band's most successful albums include (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
