Where is there a simile in The Outsiders?

In Chapter Three of The Outsiders, there is a simile used during Ponyboy's conversation with Cherry at the drive-in. When discussing the Socs, Ponyboy says, "...their cars are like weapons, loaded, ready to go." This simile compares the weapon status of the Soc's cars to a loaded weapon, ready to fire.
