Prometheus stole the fire from gods against the will of Zeus which gave humans the ability to use fire and led to the advancement of human civilization. To punish humans, Zeus created Pandora and gave her a box containing all the evils and calamities of the world. Zeus then instructed Pandora to open the box, releasing the evils into the world.
This ultimately worsened the relationship between gods and humans and increased human's suffering.
