In A Raisin in the Sun whose dreams are being deferred?

The title of the play, "A Raisin in the Sun," is taken from a line in Langston Hughes' poem "Harlem." The poem describes the dreams of a black family living in Harlem, and how those dreams are deferred due to racism and poverty. The play tells the story of the Younger family, a black family living in Chicago, and their dreams of buying a house in a white neighborhood. The play shows how the Younger family's dreams are deferred by racism, poverty, and the characters' own personal flaws.
