Who invented the word utopia?

The word "utopia" was invented by Sir Thomas More in his book "Utopia", published in 1516.

In the book, "Utopia" is the name of an imaginary island nation where everything is perfect. More chose the name "Utopia" to reflect the ambiguity of the concept: it can be interpreted as "no place" (from the Greek "ou" meaning "not" and "topos" meaning "place") or "good place" (from the Greek "eu" meaning "good" and "topos" meaning "place").
