1. Locate the kickdown linkage on the carburetor. It is usually located on the passenger side of the carburetor, near the throttle linkage.
2. Remove the cotter pin that holds the kickdown linkage in place.
3. Slide the kickdown cable into the linkage.
4. Reinstall the cotter pin to secure the kickdown cable in place.
5. Adjust the kickdown cable so that it has a slight amount of slack when the throttle is closed.
