You can get an Infinity Ticket in Pokémon Sword and Shield without participating in events by talking to NPCs around Wyndon or the Isle of Armor and defeating them in linked battles. If you win you get an infinity ticket. You could also have defeated Leon on Champion Hill with your pokemon at level 100.
