Was Pikachu the first card made?

Pikachu is not the first card made in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG).

While Pikachu is arguably the most iconic Pokémon and is featured prominently in the TCG, the first card printed was Venusaur, a Grass-type Pokémon.

The very first set, "Base Set" (released in 1999), had Venusaur as the first card, not Pikachu. It's understandable to think Pikachu is the first, given its popularity, but the TCG actually started with Venusaur.
