What is a feista?
Fiesta is a Spanish word meaning "party", "festival" or "celebration". It refers to a wide variety of festivities held in Spain, Latin America, and areas with a strong Spanish cultural influence, such as the Southwestern United States. Fiestas are often rooted in religious or cultural traditions and are characterized by lively music, dancing, food and merriment. They bring together communities and create an atmosphere of joy, celebration and cultural expression. Fiestas may be held to mark religious holidays, national or regional anniversaries, cultural events or simply to celebrate life.
