When was point dance invented?

The technique of rising on the tips of the toes in ballet, known as pointe work, is believed to have developed gradually in the early 19th century. There is some evidence that suggests it may have originated as early as the 1790s, but it was not until the 1820s and 1830s that pointe work became more prominent and accepted in ballet performances. Several influential dancers and choreographers of the time, such as Marie Taglioni and Jules Perrot, played a significant role in popularizing and refining this technique.
