Who created samba?

The origins of samba are debated, but it is generally believed to have originated in the African diaspora of Brazil in the 19th century. Samba is thought to have been birthed by Afro-Brazilian communities, largely of West African descent, in the region of Bahia. The Bantu people had a great influence in the rhythms early on. The samba was influenced by various West African rhythms, such as the "batuque" and the "lundu", as well as European musical traditions.
