What is FUNKANA?

FUNKANA, sometimes called Funk Kana or Funkkana, is a writing system devised by the British science fiction author and cryptologist J. Calvin Pierce. It is based on the concept of representing each sound in the English language with its own phonetic symbol.

FUNKANA consists of 32 symbols, each representing a particular sound or phoneme in English. These symbols are not based on the letters of the traditional English alphabet, but are rather abstract geometric shapes that were designed to be easy to write.

FUNKANA was created as an attempt to create a more efficient and consistent writing system for English, and it has been proposed as a potential solution to the problem of English spelling irregularities. However, FUNKANA has not been widely adopted, and it remains largely unknown to the general public.

Here is an example of how FUNKANA would represent the English sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog":

```
