Where is the origin of salsa?

Salsa music originated in Cuba in the 1960s. It was created by fusing elements of Cuban son, guaracha, cha-cha-cha, and other traditional Cuban genres. Salsa music quickly spread to other parts of Latin America and became one of the most popular genres of music in the region.
