- Mild salsa: 16 cups (approximately 4 gallons)
- Medium salsa: 18 cups (approximately 4.5 gallons)
- Hot salsa: 20 cups (approximately 5 gallons)
To prepare the salsa, you can either make it homemade or purchase it from a store. If making homemade salsa, consider the following ingredients and quantities:
- Tomatoes: Approximately 16 pounds of ripe tomatoes, diced
- Onions: 4 large onions, diced
- Bell peppers: 4 large bell peppers (any color), diced
- Jalapeno peppers: 4-6 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped (adjust the amount based on desired spiciness)
- Cilantro: 1 large bunch, finely chopped
- Lime juice: Juice from 4-5 limes
- Salt: 2 teaspoons, or to taste
- Pepper: 1 teaspoon, or to taste
Mix all the ingredients in a large pot or container and let them sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Adjust the seasoning to your preference.
Serve the salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, or your favorite Mexican dishes. Enjoy!
