The terminologies used in Imunan folk dance are:

Pangalay - Traditional rhythmic hand and torso movements that accompany most Filipino folk dances.

Sayaw - The word for 'dance'.

Kapayapaan - Harmony or peace, this refers to the gracef movements often depicted in Imunan Folk Dances

Lakaran - a fundamental Imunan stepping technique for moving smoothly from place to place. Typically involving two steps (right, left)

Kumpas - arm gestures

Balintawak - hand movemenrts

Kaway - the waving/wiping moves typically done near the face. There are several kinds based on their direction and placement (ex. Kaway na Baliktad is done opposite the face)
