Where is sala ti mais dance originated?

Sala Ti Mais Dance or widely known as Ati-atihan is a religious festival held annually in January in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines. It is widely considered as the "Mother of All Festivals" in the Philippines. It started as a pagan festival during the pre-Hispanic era called "Sadsad" - a form of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. After the arrival of the Spanish colonizers, it became a Christianized pagan festival that venerates the Holy Child Jesus and the Santo Niño. Today, it is a combination of both pagan and Catholic traditions.
