Do you wear socks with your jazz shoes?

Jazz shoes are typically designed to be worn barefoot. Wearing socks with jazz shoes can affect their fit, comfort, and performance. Jazz shoes are designed to make direct contact with the dance floor, allowing the dancer to feel the floor and move with greater control and precision. Socks can add an extra layer of fabric between the foot and the shoe, reducing tactile sensitivity and making it more challenging to execute turns and other footwork. Additionally, wearing socks can increase friction between the foot and the shoe, potentially causing blisters and other discomfort.
