Where did rap start?
Rap music originated in the Bronx, New York City, in the 1970s. It emerged from the African American and Latino communities and was initially associated with block parties and community events. DJ Kool Herc is often credited as the "father of hip hop" for his innovative use of breakbeats and turntable techniques at these parties. Over time, rap music gained popularity and spread to other cities and countries, becoming a significant cultural phenomenon and a major genre in popular music.
