Lawrence Krisna Parker, better known by his stage name KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone), is an American rapper, songwriter, producer, and activist. He is widely considered to be one of the pioneers of hip hop music and one of the most influential MCs of all time.
KRS-One began his career in the early 1980s as a member of the group Boogie Down Productions. He released his debut solo album, "Criminal Minded," in 1987, which is considered a landmark album in hip hop history. He has since released a total of 21 studio albums, including several more with Boogie Down Productions.
KRS-One is also known for his activism and his work in promoting positive messages through his music. He has founded several organizations, including the Stop the Violence Movement and the Temple of Hip Hop, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting the culture of hip hop.
