Who was the first gangster rapper?

The title of "first gangster rapper" is often credited to Ice-T, who released his album "Rhyme Pays" in 1986. His lyrics in the song "6 in the Morning" are widely regarded as the first instance of gangster rap in popular music. However, there are some other contenders for this title, including Schoolly D and N.W.A., who released their music around the same time and also presented gritty, street-oriented lyrics in their songs.
