What type of Kung Fu did Bruce Lee take?

Bruce Lee didn't practice just one style of Kung Fu. He was a student of Wing Chun, but he also incorporated elements from other styles, including:

* Northern Shaolin: He learned some Northern Shaolin techniques from his father, who was a renowned opera singer and martial artist.

* Hung Gar: Lee's early Kung Fu instruction at the Yip Man's school also exposed him to Hung Gar.

* Taekwondo: Lee studied Tae Kwon Do to learn more about kicking techniques.

* Judo: He also studied Judo to learn about grappling and throws.

He ultimately created his own fighting style called Jeet Kune Do, which meant "the way of the intercepting fist." It was a hybrid style that combined elements of various martial arts and focused on directness, speed, and efficiency.
