Who invented hip-hop?

The origin of hip-hop music can be traced back to the Bronx, New York City, in the 1970s. It is widely accepted that hip-hop culture was pioneered by African American and Latino youth in the Bronx. Clive Campbell, better known as DJ Kool Herc, is often credited as one of the founding figures of hip-hop. He is considered the "father of hip-hop" for his pivotal role in popularizing the use of breakbeats, a technique that involves isolating the percussive break section of a record and extending it by looping or repeating it. DJ Kool Herc's parties in the Bronx in the early 1970s are often regarded as the birthplace of hip-hop culture, where elements such as breakdancing, graffiti art, and rapping began to merge and evolve.
