What is going on with Mariah Carey and Eminem?

There is a history of alleged beef between Mariah Carey and Eminem. In his 2009 song "Bagpipes from Baghdad", Eminem rapped about Carey, saying "Mariah's voice cracks like twigs when she hittin' high notes." In response, Carey released a diss track called "Obsessed" in 2009, which was widely interpreted as a response to Eminem's song. The feud between the two musicians continued for several years, with both sides trading barbs through their music.

However, in recent years, it appears that the feud has cooled down. In 2018, Eminem released a song called "The Ringer" which included the lyrics "I'm just playin', dog, come on Mariah/Don't be mad, I swear it ain't personal, girl." This was interpreted by many as a sign that Eminem was trying to end the feud. Carey responded positively to the song, saying that she appreciated Eminem's gesture.
