What are some hip hop dance styles?

Breaking

Breaking, also known by its informal and original name b-boying, is an original hip-hop dance style that emphasizes four key elements: top rocking (upright dancing), down-rocking (floor work or acrobatics), power moves (acrobatics with strength), and freezes (holds at the end of a move).

Locking:

Locking is known for its stylized arm and hand movements, quick freezes and poses, rhythmic footwork, and isolations (when one part of the body moves while the rest remains still).

Popping:

Popping is distinguished by its sharp muscle contractions and relaxations, creating an effect that makes dancers appear to be popping or vibrating.

Waving:

Waving features continuous, undulating body and arm movements that generate a 'waving' effect, often using fluidity, circular motions, and intricate hand movements.

House:

House dancing originated from the underground music scene of the same name in Chicago and New York during the 1970s. It emphasizes footwork, intricate legwork, fluid body movements, and fast isolations.

Krump:

Krumping emerged as a street dance that originated in South Central Los Angeles, primarily African-American and Latino communities, in the early 2000s. Krumping is characterized by energetic and highly expressive, theatrical, and freestyle movements, often involving aggressive, powerful, fast-paced, and exaggerated expressions of inner feelings.
