How do you dance polkabal?

Polka and Bal are two separate dances; there's no such dance as "polkabal."

1. Polka

- Stand tall with knees slightly bent.

- Hold your partner's right hand in your left hand and bring it up to shoulder level.

- Place your right hand on your partner's waist.

- Step forward with your left foot, then bring your right foot to meet it.

- Shift your weight to your right foot and step forward with your left foot.

- Repeat steps 3 and 4, alternately stepping forward with left foot and right foot.

- As you step, swing your arms opposite to your feet.

2. Bal

- Stand facing your partner with a slight bend in the knees.

- Hold hands with your partner, forming an arch with your arms with hands held a few inches apart above your head.

- Step forward with your right foot and bend your knee slightly.

- Bring your left foot to meet your right foot.

- Shift your weight to your left foot and step backward with your right foot.

- Repeat steps 3 and 4, alternating stepping forward with right foot and backward with left foot.

- As you step, swing your arms in a flowing motion, up and down in time with your steps.
