What are the five fundamental dance steps of arms and feet?

The five fundamental dance steps of arms and feet are:

Arms

1. First Position Arms are both rounded forward at shoulder-height, slightly above elbows.

2. Second Position Arms are to the side, horizontal to the floor, with an open and relaxed quality to the body.

3. Third Position An arm at the waist and one rounded in the front. The arm in front is at about shoulder height.

4. Fourth Position Arms are rounded in the front and high. The arms come towards each other, one arm slightly higher than the other.

5. Fifth Position Arms are above the head and rounded.

Feet

1. First Position Feet are together and turned out at 180 degrees.

2. Second Position Feet are apart, turned out, in a straight line with the heel of the front foot touching the toes of the back foot.

3. Third Position The front foot is in front of the back foot with about 6 inches of space between, heels aligned, both feet turned out.

4. Fourth Position The feet are apart and turned out, with one foot in front of the other, in a parallel line.

5. Fifth Position Heels together, toes opposite and apart, turned out 180 degrees.
