1. Palipasan: The dancers perform
cross steps or side steps in place, alternating feet.
2. Salok sa Kawayan: The dancers start facing each other while moving laterally using palipasan steps. As the bamboo clack, they perform a picking, and scooping action at the bamboo while squatting.
3. Sigpit sa Kawayan: The dancers continue dancing palipasan steps while advancing forward until they reach the center. They then perform the sikpit action – the two bamboo are held and slightly pressed together – then move backwards using palipasan steps until they reach their original position.
4. Luhod: Each dancer kneels on one leg while lifting the other leg forward, changing leg in every bamboo's closing, followed by a tap forward with the lifted foot.
5. Tuwid: The dancers stand up. They hold the middle of the bamboo poles using their hands and raise them simultaneously as they take several palipasan steps.
6. Lalakad sa Kawayan: Each dancer places his/her foot on top of the bamboo poles (one step on each pole) as the poles rise and fall, walking through.
