What are the basic steps of valley dance?

The basic steps of valley dance, a traditional folk dance from the Kashmir Valley, are:

1. Hindustani Step: This is the most basic step and involves taking a small step forward with the right foot, then bringing the left foot to meet it. The motion is repeated with alternating feet.

2. Kurdish Step: Start with the feet together. Step forward with the right foot, bend the right knee, and swing the left foot forward and across the right foot, tapping it on the ground. Step forward with the left foot and repeat the motion with the right foot.

3. Kashmiri Step: Begin with feet together. Step forward with the right foot, then bring the left foot to meet it. With the feet together, hop on the right foot and then the left foot. Repeat the motion with alternating feet.

4. Khattak Step: Start with the feet together. Take a small step forward with the right foot and bend the right knee slightly. Bring the left foot to meet the right foot and bend both knees. Step back with the right foot, then bring the left foot to meet it. Repeat the motion with alternating feet.

5. Ladakhi Step: Begin with feet together. Step forward with the right foot and then bring the left foot to meet it. With the feet together, hop on both feet. Step back with the left foot and bring the right foot to meet it. Repeat the motion with alternating feet.

In addition to these basic steps, valley dance also incorporates arm movements, body sways, and spins. The tempo and intensity of the dance vary depending on the region and the occasion.
