How do you dance call the Virginia reel?

The Virginia reel is a traditional American folk dance. It is one of the easiest partner dances to learn, making it a great choice for beginners. The Virginia reel is often danced at barn dances and other social events.

To dance the Virginia reel, follow these steps:

1. Stand in a two-line formation, facing your partner. The lines should be about 8-10 feet apart.

2. The gentleman on the left and the lady on the right will walk forward and face each other in the center of the lines.

3. The gentleman will extend his right hand to the lady, and the lady will extend her left hand to the gentleman.

4. The gentleman will say, "How do you do?" and the lady will reply, "Very well, thank you."

5. The gentleman will then move to the right and dance with the next lady in line. The lady will move to the left and dance with the next gentleman in line.

6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you reach the end of the line.

7. Once you reach the end of the line, turn around and face your original partner.

8. Join hands with your partner and walk forward until you meet in the center of the lines.

9. Raise your hands and make an arch.

10. The remaining couples in the line will walk forward and pass under the arch.

11. The couple under the arch will lower their hands and follow the other couples.

12. Repeat steps 9-11 until you reach the end of the line.

13. Once you reach the end of the line, turn around and face your original partner.

14. Join hands with your partner and dance back to the starting position.
