Why did the beach boys break up?

The Beach Boys never officially broke up. Although they have experienced lineup changes and periods of inactivity, the band has continued to perform and record new music through the decades. While some members have pursued solo careers or formed other bands, the core group, including Brian Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine, has remained active under the name The Beach Boys.
