Who is Venetian Princess?

Venetian Princess is the name of two ships. The first was an ocean liner built in 1913 by the AG Vulcan Stettin shipyard in Stettin, Germany, for Canadian Pacific Steamships Ltd. The second is a cruise ship built in 1996 by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, for Princess Cruises.

Venetian Princess (1913–1930)

- Draft: 28 ft (8.5 m)

- Propulsion: 2 x steam turbines, 12,000 hp

- Speed: 17 knots (31 km/h)

- Capacity: 1,200 passengers

- Fate: Sunk in a collision with the Greek steamship Thetis in the Strait of Gibraltar on 19 August 1930, with the loss of 100 lives

Venetian Princess (1996)

- Displacement: 77,000 tons

- Length: 852 ft (259 m)

- Beam: 105 ft (32 m)

- Draft: 27 ft (8.2 m)

- Propulsion: 4 x diesel engines, 100,000 hp

- Speed: 22 knots (41 km/h)

- Capacity: 2,000 passengers

- Fate: Active in service as of 2022
