Keep your movements dramatic and fast. The grand allegro is usually the most thrilling part of the performance; your movements should reflect the excitement.
Work on your endurance. The demanding, fast-paced moves require a high amount of strength and energy. You must be able to perform such moves throughout the entire grand allegro segment.
Focus on covering a large amount of space with each move. During the grand allegro dancers must quickly move back and forth across the entire length of the stage.
Incorporate grand jetes into the grand allegro. During a grand jete or split jump, a dancer jumps into the air and splits his legs so one leg extends forward and the other backward. You may also include a grand jete en tournant, in which you perform a split jump, but then turn while in the air and land on the foot opposite the one from which you jumped.
Select quick, dramatic steps to accompany the grand jetes. Also known as the jump of an angel, the temps de poisson consists of a dancer jumping and arching his back. During an assemble move, a dancer quickly kicks one leg out and launches into a jump. The second foot then swishes up to join the first foot in mid-air and the dancer lands on both feet.
