How to Wear a Dance Belt

Dance belts are designed to support a male dancer’s groin area during solo ballet and partner work. This undergarment is worn against the skin, underneath tights, dance pants and any other lower body rehearsal or costuming apparel. You most often see them in a thong design, as this reduces the look of jockstrap or “panty” lines, while still offering support and protection where it’s needed the most.

Instructions

  1. How to Wear a Dance Belt

    • 1

Step into the dance belt and move it up to your waist, about at the same height you would fasten your pants. The belt will fit tightly, as the end result is for nothing to move while dancing.

    • 2

Reach into the belt and pull the scrotum into the dance belt pouch. The testicles should be in the front, with the penis adjusting to a straight up position against the belly button.

    • 3

Adjust the pouch by gently pulling down, and raising up the back so the thong is in place between the buttocks. Any loose material should be tightened into the rear waistband so there is no “give.”

    • 4

Try a few of your regular rehearsal dance steps to ensure the belt stays in place and is relatively comfortable in movement.
